Josiah is 7 months old

Mommy and Josiah reading. Some of our favorite times together are us looking at books.
I shot a close up of Josiah to see if I could show you his tooth, but it didn't work. But he has a tooth that is halfway up and another that just cut through. Both are on the bottom.
He isn't crawling yet, but he is working on it. He is starting to push his hips up. If you put him on his hands and knees he can hold himself up. But God knows that having Josiah crawling while we are trying to pack would be to much for his parents to handle, so we don't expect him to crawl until after we leave West Virginia.

Update on Josiah

We had a doctor's appointment on Friday to see if Josiah's lungs were okay. The doctor said he sounded great. The doctor thinks Josiah stopped breathing because he spit up in his sleep. When that happens a baby's body tells him to stop breathing. Josiah did, but he didn't swallow to push the spit up back down. When we picked him up we knocked whatever was in his throat out and he started breathing again. God was watching out for our little guy and we are grateful that nothing major is wrong with him.

In other Josiah news he is getting his first tooth. I felt it when he bit my finger today.

A Night at the Hotel Ruby Memorial Hospital

Last night Josiah decided to play a mean trick on us quit breathing for a short time. At around 10:00pm we heard a funny noise coming from his bedroom. We ran up to see what was wrong and he was struggling to breath and his lips and tongue were blue. We called 911. But the time the ambulance got to our house 5 minutes later he was starting to breath normal again. They took us to the hospital to make sure everything was okay. After staying up half the night watching doctors and nurses do all sorts of tests on him, they couldn't decide what was wrong so they kept us overnight to monitor him. He didn't have another spell so we came home around 2:00 this afternoon. They think he might have a virus that caused it, but they aren't sure because he doesn't show signs of being sick. We have a follow up doctor's appointment tomorrow to make sure his lungs sound good. We are hoping it was a fluke thing and that it won't happen again, but we are keeping close watch on him for the next couple of nights to make sure. Pray that everything is alright. We will keep you updated on what the doctor tells us tomorrow.

Catching Up!

Sorry it has been so long since we put up pictures. It's hard because everytime we have internet capability we are work and we don't have time to add pictures. Tonight we are at the student center watching the Super Bowl, so I thought I would take this time to post.

Josiah is now sitting up really well. Sitting and playing with his toys is his favorite thing to do. It might delay his learning how to crawl because he much rather be sitting up than laying down. This past week we tried sweet potatoes and as you can tell from the picture, he loves them. He likes them much better than bananas.
This is Josiah helping mommy cook cookies for a student center game night.
He can drink from a sippy cup.

In the evening when Josiah is fussy we put him in his car seat, snuggle him in and listen to the Narnia books on CD. After 30 minutes of listening he is ready to go again. Thanks Chuck and Debbie for the CDs!

Josiah is 6 Months Old!!

Josiah had his six month appointment today. He weighs 17 lbs 4 oz and is 26 inches long. So he is 5o% in his weight and 25% for his length. He is doing a really good job of sitting up on his own. He still topples over some, but the doctor was impressed with how well he could sit on his own for his age. Josiah also enjoys rolling over onto his stomach. When I lay him down to sleep he rolls over onto his belly and plays with his pacifier until he gets frustrated. Then he screams so I have to go rescue him because he won't roll back onto his back. Josiah tried bananas this week and he loves them. Next week we are going to try sweet potatoes. He has also learned his name. When I call for him he turns his head and smiles.

I think that is it for now. Sorry I don't have pictures. We are getting ready to go on Winter Retreat and I don't have time to download pictures right now. Hopefully next week.
