How Big is Josiah?

We have internet service at our apartment now and it is really fast so I hope to update the blog more often. Josiah seems to be trying new things everyday. He now he trying to stand on his own. He lets go of whatever he is holding onto and can stand on his own for 3 or 4 seconds. He has also turned into quite the talker. He likes to stand up holding onto the coffee table and give me a speech with hand gestures and everything. If you could see his face, you would almost think he knew what he was talking about. But of course he doesn't do it for the camera, so I don't have a video of it to show you. I hope you enjoy the following 3 videos. This first one is Josiah showing you how big he is.

Bad Habits

Like any good dad, Jason is beginning to teach Josiah bad habits.

Josiah in Trouble

The first week we were in Corvallis it was really warm so one night we decided to go outside and BBQ instead of heating the apartment more. We set Josiah on a blanket and he played with his toys. He did really well, but after 3o minutes he began to get bored with his toys and decided to try to eat grass. The video is of him getting into trouble and his reaction.

Update

We don't have internet at the apartment yet which makes it difficult for me to update the blog. I don't have any pictures, but I will give you a brieg update of life now that we are in Corvallis.

We are loving Corvallis. It is pretty and people are nice. Our apartment is wonderful. It is very clean and is located near a park and biking trails. Jason has enjoyed riding his bike back and forth to work. Corvallis is very bike friendly so it actually takes Jason the same amount of time to bike as it would for him to drive.

Josiah is settling nicely. The first Monday Night Praise he saw all the college girls and he headed straight for them. I guess he missed the girls in West Virginia. He is still afraid of men. He is now crawling on his hands and knees instead of his hands and toes. He also developed a fake laugh. When everyone else is laughing and he doesn't know why he fake laughs. He enjoys feeling himself finger foods. He eats more if he can feed himself than if I spoon feed him. He is still pulling up on everything and is now trying to cruise. We just got furniture on Monday so he has something to practice on. Well...I am at the student center and I hear a tired little boy in the living room so I better go.

A Month of Traveling

Sorry that I haven't blogged for awhile we have been traveling. I kept telling myself to do it, but I never made the time. Here is a brief description of what we have been doing as we traveled across the country. Hope you enjoy.
After we left Morgantown, WV we headed to Nebraska to visit with Jason's grandparents. We took four days to get there. We stopped one day in Ohio on the coast of Lake Erie. The second day we headed to the southern part of Michigan and visited Weko Beach and Warren Dunes State Park. The next two days we didn't stop anywhere. We just drove.
While we are moving back to the Northwest, our friends Jesse and Lindsay were moving from Washington to Pennsylvannia. We met in the middle, in Iowa, at a McDonald's so their daughter, Natalee, and Josiah could meet. Natalee is exacly one week older that Josiah.
We finally made it to Sargent, NB. Josiah had a great time hanging out with is Great Grandma Hansen. At first he wasn't sure about great grandpa but after a couple of days warmed up to him. This is Josiah laughing at Jason's Grandma. He is sitting in the high chair that Jason's mom Debbie used when she was little.
Jason's grandparents live on a farm. This is Josiah checking out a calf. He didn't find the calf near as exciting as Grandma and Grandpa's dog. When he would see her he would giggle and his legs and arms would fly around.
After Nebraska we began our trek to Wyoming. We stayed overnight in South Dakota. I don't know if you can tell but this is Josiah and Amanda at Mount Rushmore. We were in a hurry to get to Worland that night so we just took a quick picture and left. Jason's parents live in Worland. Unfortunately I don't think I have any pictures of our time in Worland. I have some video, but I can't upload that right now. While we were in Worland, Josiah learned how to open doors and take books off the shelf. After Worland we spent one night in Cody, Wyoming with Amanda's Grandpa Rod.Josiah and Great Grandpa Rod hanging out.
After Cody we went to Lander,Wyoming to see Amanda's parents. While we were in Lander we went to the park of couple of times. Josiah had never been to a park before. He loved swinging and going down the slide.
Josiah playing in the tube at North Park in Lander.
Jason would get tired after hours of driving. So Josiah took his turn driving so daddy could take a break. Just kidding...we are stopped at a gas station. As you can tell from Josiah's expression he is very proud of the fact that he has control of the steering wheel.
After spending a couple of weeks in Wyoming, we headed down south to visit Amanda's grandparents in Las Vegas. We stopped in Zion National Park for a day and walked around. It was good to spend a day hiking instead of being in the pickup driving. The sandstone cliffs were amazing. The next two pictures were taken in Zion.
We arrived in Las Vegas late April 26th. We have done a lot since we have been here. Below are some pictures of what we have done.
One day while Grandma and Grandpa Pfaff were busy we went to the Children's Science Museum. They had a lot of cool exhibits to play with. They even had an area specially made for babies. Josiah enjoyed opening and closing the doors and trying to get at the animals inside.
We went hiking a couple of times during our stay in Las Vegas. The first day hiking was at Red Rocks National Park. This a great picture of how much fun Josiah has being in his pack exploring nature.
This is Josiah and Jason in a sandstone cave at the Valley of Fire. Valley of Fire is a state park about 45 miles north of Las Vegas. The Valley of Fire has beautiful rock formations and lots of archeological sites of ancient Native Americans to visit.
This picture was also taken at Valley of Fire. We walked a 1/2 mile trail with Grandma and Grandpa through a valley covered with pictogryphs. You can see them to the right of Jason and Josiah.
Tomorrow we are headed north to Corvallis. We plan on being there on Wednesday. While we head north we are going to stop in Sequoia National Park for a day. We have had a great trip, but we are ready to get to Corvallis and get settled in.
In other news, Josiah is getting around quite well with his inch worm crawling. He is also pulling himself up on furniture and knows to raise his arms above his head when you say, "SOOO BIG".

Josiah's pearly whites!

This is not the best picture of Josiah and his teeth, but it is the picture Jason gave me to post. Josiah looks very cute with his two teeth. In other Josiah news, he is starting to work in his crawling skills. He can get up on his hands and knees but he gets a little scared once he is up there because he has tried to move forward a couple of times and fell on his face. Our house is a disaster as we are trying to get packed up so I am grateful he can't crawl yet.

Josiah has teeth

This is not the picture that I picked out to show off Josiah's teeth, but it is the one Jason gave me. He looks very cute with his two teeth. You just have to watch your fingers because he likes to bite.
